Shaddock MMA Coach John Shaddock Earns Black Belt in Luta Livre!
Shaddock MMA is proud to announce that Head Coach John Shaddock has been promoted to Black Belt in Luta Livre by Grand Master Hugo Duarte.
This achievement represents years of dedication to the art of submission grappling and further strengthens the high-level instruction available to students at Shaddock MMA.
Luta Livre is a Brazilian grappling system known for its emphasis on no-gi training, submissions, takedowns, and practical application for both sport grappling and mixed martial arts. While Coach Shaddock has already earned his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, receiving his Luta Livre Black Belt marks another important milestone in his martial arts journey.
The promotion was awarded by Grand Master Hugo Duarte, one of the most respected figures in Luta Livre and a pioneer of the art. Coach Shaddock has spent years studying and training within the Luta Livre system, continually expanding his knowledge and bringing that experience back to his students at Shaddock MMA.
Bringing High-Level No-Gi Grappling to Shaddock MMA
Luta Livre has long been an important part of Coach Shaddock's approach to grappling instruction. Known for its emphasis on effective no-gi techniques, submissions, takedowns, and real-world application, the art has played a significant role in the development of modern mixed martial arts and submission grappling.
As a newly promoted Luta Livre Black Belt, Coach Shaddock continues to bring that knowledge directly to the mats at Shaddock MMA. Students training in our no-gi classes benefit from instruction rooted in both experience and lineage, learning techniques and concepts that have been passed down through some of the most respected practitioners in the sport.
This promotion further strengthens Shaddock MMA's commitment to providing high-quality grappling instruction for students of all experience levels, whether their goals are competition, self-defense, fitness, or personal growth.
